30

When I was a working journalist, we put 30 at the end of each story. It started out as XXX, but I guess it became anglicized into 30.
The point here is that Trump is again talking about taking away the press credentials of those reporters who write negative things about him, thus taking away their supposed access and making their jobs harder, if not impossible. Access has always been critical to journos, and now the Blowhard In Chief is saying he wants to put a 30 on whichever of the press he thinks are mistreating him and his.
A couple thoughts here: first, there might not be anybody left for those sham press briefings that Sarah Huckabee Sanders puts on if all the naysayers are flagged. Or is it just the real, real, real badmouthers who will have their credentials yanked? That’s still a lot of credentials to 30.
What’s really at stake here? Not much, if you ask me. Sanders handles tough questions one of two ways: she says she’ll have to get back to the interlocutor, or she just flat out lies. Either way, what is all this high-value access really producing besides stale, canned, bullshit that is the real fake news in America? Also, the Big Bullshitter hasn’t had a straight-up, real, old-time press conference in more than a year, so what are the journos actually missing? All the good shit from DT is on Twitter anyhow.
A few words here about Huckabee Sanders. First, we used to call the way her mouth twitches “meth-mouth” and, second, she professes to be an upstanding Christian, but basically lies for a living in service to a psychopath who never met a commandment he didn’t break. You would think that a lot of reporters would relish not having to smell the stink of her lies day after day.
Trump saying he’s going to flag nay-sayers is another instance of his picking up his ball and walking off the field, which he did to a fair-thee-well in ending our part in the so-called Iran deal. For my money, pure American racism was the big motivator in such a potentially calamitous move. Donald Trump is obsessively bent on erasing every vestige of Barack Obama’s mark on history. Not because of a sweeping Trumpian geo-political philosophy, but almost totally because of the color of Obama’s skin. I wonder how many times Trump has privately – or not so privately – referred to his predecessor as a nigger? I’ll bet lots from the way he has gone after the man. It is way beyond political or personal. It is pure racism. And acting on his racism as he did this week can jeopardize any chance for peace or denuclearization in the Middle East and could put us in another blithering and ill-considered war – as if we aren’t mired deep enough now in endless, winless combat in Afghanistan.
There’s one dude out there who Trump wishes he could 30 and that’s Michael Avenatti. He’s digging up more shit on Michael Cohen than the whole press corps so far and much of it may ultimately and criminally be dropped at the closed door of Donald J. Trump.
